Final Year Project

Project Title

Rescue Robotics

Description

Predicting natural disaster occurrences, especially earthquakes is still a remarkably difficult task. In the case of natural or artificial disasters, the window to save human lives is very short. Our capstone design project is on the design of an Autonomous Rescue Robot that can navigate through collapsed buildings, rubble and other disaster sites to look for signs of life and alert nearby authorities and response centres of the exact location of the disaster victims. The robot develops a real-time traversal map of the disaster site and can work in low-light conditions as well. This is a joint project with Syed Hasnain Raza and Syed Muhammad Raza Rizvi.
